History

This is the history of Duijst Transport from its foundation by Klaas Duijst in 1923 and the continuation of the business by Wout Duijst. Since 1992 the business has been run by his children, Klaas and Marjanne Duijst.

We have existed for almost a century!

This is Duijst Transport in 2017, a business that has moved with the times. We will soon be able to celebrate our centenary, and that will be a significant milestone.

Duijst Brothers

Wout and Ben Duijst took over the business from Klaas Duijst. In addition to supplying goods to markets, they began with the transport of clothing for clothing stores such as Kreymborg.

Klaas Duijst, 3rd Generation

Klaas Duijst (3rd generation) always had an interest in the business, and he started working there at a young age.

Beukenlaan, Soest

The business was run from home for many years at Beukenlaan in Soest. As Duijst Transport expanded and modernised, it moved to new premises on the business park at Zuidergracht. The old villa at Beukenlaan was replaced with a new building in 1996.

From Baarn To Soest

After the Second World War the business moved from Baarn to Soest.

Founder Klaas Duijst

The business was founded in 1923 by Klaas Duijst (first generation) and was located in Baarn. The core activities were removals, storage of household effects and supplying markets. The goods were transported in crates from one market, say in Utrecht, to the next market, perhaps…
